Description

Prunus 'Amanogawa' is a smaller Japanese cherry tree favoured for its beautiful dense clusters of pale pink flowers borne on the almost bare branches in spring. The flowers are also enjoyed for the light and elegant fragrance. Bronze-green foliage emerges shortly afterwards then matures into a mid-green hue in summer, before bursting into fiery autumnal shades of red and orange. Prunus Amanogawa grows in a columnar upright form and makes a beautiful feature tree in any garden, although its size and form make it a popular choice smaller gardens. It is also an excellent choice for urban settings due to its tolerance of pollution. In 10 years of growth, this cherry tree has a height and spread of 4 x 1 metres. Prunus Amanogawa is suited to most soil types, as long as they are moist and well-drained. It is best positioned in full sun.
