Phormium 'Yellow Wave' commonly known as New Zealand Flax 'Yellow Wave' is an evergreen, clumping, half-hardy shrub featuring yellow and green, arching, sword-shaped leaves. This large, feature plant is perfect for creating impressive height and structure in the garden and particularly attractive as a striking and colourful centrepiece combined with other softer and contrasting planting.

This feature shrub prefers a sunny, but sheltered location. It grows best in moist, well-drained soil of most types and needs watering well in summer. Keep sheltered from cold drying winds and in colder areas, over-winter container based plants in a greenhouse or a conservatory.

Phormium 'Yellow Wave' is suitable for either containers, borders or beds and needs little maintenance other than removing any dead or damaged leaves in spring. An organic mulch will help stimulate new growth.
