Orange Potentilla Hedge Plants Description
With a very long flowering period from late spring throughout summer and into early autumn, this beautifully bright Orange Potentilla variety is excellent for informal low hedging. The simple, five-petalled copper-orange flowers are abundant over the grey-green small-leaved foliage throughout the flowering season making this a colourful and popular informal hedge.
Orange Potentilla will grow well in both sun and all but the densest shade. It thrives in moist soil and although it prefers reasonably rich soil it will tolerate poor soil as well. Potentilla 'Tangerine' is a very durable plant and will tolerate drought, flood, and extreme cold and so will thrive in seaside locations, making it a great hedging for exposed sites.
Orange Potentilla is deciduous and one of the more compact Potentilla varieties growing only to around 50cm in height and easily maintained at this height or lower.
We also have Pink, Yellow & White flowering varieties of Potentilla, either as alternatives or to combine with. Alternatively, you can find other colours and flower styles amongst our flowering hedging.
These plants are available all year round.

Pruning Advice
It is important to prune Orange Potentilla at the right time, so as not to remove new growing shoots. The plant should be pruned at the end of the flowering season cutting out all the old branches at ground level. Remove shoots that have flowered to within 1.5-2.5cm (¾-1in) of the previous year's growth.
An additional step to encourage optimal growth and flowering for the year after, is to put down an annual mulch or fertiliser trowelled into the soil from which the plant will definitely benefit.
