An evergreen perennial forming a loose clump of narrow, glossy leaves which are bright greenish-yellow in winter and spring, later becoming greener; tiny brown flowers are borne in loose clusters in late spring and early summer. Luzula sylvatica, commonly known as greater wood-rush or great wood-rush, is a perennial flowering plant in the rush family Juncaceae.
