Description
With year-round colour and a distinctive rounded shape naturally, Hebe 'Emerald Gem' is a delightful, evergreen, compact shrub that is about as low maintenance as they come! It is formed of attractive upright spires of very small leaves making a dense green globe and has tiny white flowers on occasion in summer. This lovely veronica will look as at home planted in a bed or border, or in a large pot, its natural shape being almost topiary like.
Plant in moist well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Hebe 'Emerald Gem' does however need a sheltered spot and protection from cold winds.
This dwarf Hebe only grows to around 30cm height and spread on average but can reach 50cm in ideal conditions. No real pruning is needed, simply trim any untidy ends, as you notice them.
