Description
Abelia x grandiflora 'kaleidoscope' is a compact evergreen shrub, which boasts attractive green and gold variegated foliage. In summer, the shrub bears small, fragrant white flowers tinged with a hint of pink. The leaves in spring are mostly green with a hint of gold but develop in vibrancy to bright green and gold through the summer months before taking on fiery red-orange colours in autumn. This colourful shrub brings lots of seasonal interest and year-round colour to the garden.
Although classed as evergreen, in colder or more exposed locations, this fairly hardy dwarf shrub may experience partial leaf loss over winter, but will recover well in spring. It does best in moist, well drained soil, with plenty of sun and prefers a sheltered location.
